Help Reduce Local Crime Opportunities

Please be aware, vehicle break-ins are often a case of “opportunity” for thieves, especially during this time of year.

To lower the risk of theft, reduce the opportunities.
Prevent the crime before it happens!

Thieves are always on the lookout for easy opportunities; therefore, it is recommended to lock all vehicle doors, even when parked in a home driveway.

Since locked vehicles may not always deter a thief, the RCMP advises to remove all valuables from vehicles.

Valuables to consider may include items such as, but not limited to:

  • gift cards, loose change/money
  • purses, wallets, backpacks
  • shopping bags/boxes
  • electronics

Please report all thefts to the RCMP, because information about crimes or stolen items, even small items such as gift cards, can assist RCMP in their prevention efforts.

To report a theft, call the Agassiz RCMP Detachment at 604-796-2211For crimes in progress, call 9-1-1.

Please note, Seabird Island Band cannot replace lost/stolen gift cards provided to Members; instead, Members would need to directly contact the issuing business (examples: MasterCard, Walmart) for further assistance.
